National Volunteer Week: Making A Visible Impact

This week, we celebrate National Volunteer Week, a time to recognize the contributions of volunteers and the impact they have on our communities. At Visible, we are proud to be a brand that is committed to making a positive difference in the world. We believe that every person has the power to create change, and we are committed to providing our members and employees with opportunities to give back and make a difference.

Visible Impacts: Our Commitment to Social Responsibility

At Visible, we believe that our success isn’t only measured by financial performance but by our impact on society. That's why earlier this year, we announced the launch of Visible Impacts, our social responsibility platform. Through this platform, we are committed to creating positive change in our communities, while partnering with organizations that share our values and support causes that matter to us and our members.

Here are some of the initiatives we support through Visible Impacts:

Food: We provide hunger relief organizations with the wireless service, hardware, and technical assistance they need to increase their impact. This connects more people to the food assistance they need — without wait times or stigma. 

Career: We connect underserved communities to employment opportunities through programs that use mobile technology to help them access jobs, mentorship, and career counseling.

Community: We connect LGBTQ+ and accessibility organizations with mobile technology to foster a greater sense of belonging and provide access to resources and online communities.

This National Volunteer Week, our employees can volunteer once again with "Be My Eyes," an app that connects visually impaired individuals with volunteers who can provide assistance with daily tasks in times of need.

Here’s what one of our employees shared about their last experience: “I was honored to help a young boy build a tower from iPhone boxes during my last Be My Eyes call. As a new mom of a baby boy, it felt incredibly meaningful to bring joy to a child in such a simple and pure way. Volunteering with Be My Eyes feels special and impactful in a way I haven’t often experienced and I feel lucky to have gotten the opportunity.”

Connection Protection by Visible

In addition to our social responsibility program, we recently launched Connection Protection. This new program ensures those who get laid off won’t lose their wireless plan, too. We offer eligible participants three months of service with costs covered by Visible, in addition to coaching and resources to help those who experience a layoff process their job loss and get support to find their next role.
