From the desk of Jeremy Bolton, Visible’s Managing Director - February 13, 2024
Serving our customers with simple and accessible wireless has always been our goal. We’ve put our members first since day 1, and when we started hearing from you that there looked to be an issue with the Visible base plan restricting the top speed to 200 Mbps, we wanted to rectify it. We identified the issue and fixed it. So, the 200 Mbps speed cap on the Visible base plan will be removed for all members by March 1, 2024. At that time, members may need to power cycle their phone or toggle airplane mode to see the 200 Mbps cap removed.
Since we pride ourselves on transparency, here’s a look at what happened: The 200 Mbps cap was a holdover from Visible’s Party Pay days - which only Visible OG’s will remember. We intended to remove it after completing our network migration and rolling out the new Visible base and Visible+ plan – but we recently became aware that the cap was still impacting the Visible plan. Thanks to you, we were able to identify the issue and revert back to the intended configuration.
Internet speed is often defined in Mbps (megabits per second), the rate at which data is transmitted (data upload and download speeds) over your wireless connection. Actual speeds can fluctuate — influenced by factors such as network congestion, the quality of your equipment, and other conditions.
Removing this cap means that speeds above 200 Mbps connections will be possible on the Visible plan, so that everyone has an amazing experience whether they are working, streaming, playing, sharing, traveling, or simply staying connected with family and friends.
At Visible, we’re staying true to who we are. Thanks for loving us, through the hiccups and all.
